Attorney Bio

Ms. Hill, a native of California, grew up in Beverly Hills, California and graduated from UCLA with a BA degree in Classical Civilization.

She attended law school in the evening while working full time as a paralegal and received her juris doctorate in 1993 from University of West Los Angeles.

Immediately upon passing the bar in 1996, she opened the law firm of Monique Shana Hill, Attorney at Law in Marina Del Rey, California and began taking cases. After one short year, it became the firm of Hill & Hill and moved to larger quarters in Playa del Rey, California.

During Ms. Hill's time as an attorney, she has handled administrative hearings, including Alcohol and Beverage Control matters, EEOC hearings, High School Expulsion and Suspension Hearings for juveniles, physical therapist board hearings, defamation matters, personal injury matters, serious felonies and death penalty cases. She has argued in front of the California Supreme Court in Shively v. Bozanich, a civil matter arising out of the OJ Simpson case. Today the firm focuses on administrative and criminal defense.

Ms. Hill had the pleasure of assisting the Southern California Indian Center in both pro bono matters for their members and low cost matters. Clients with concealed weapons matters have received lowered fee consideration.

She has been a member of the Women Lawyers of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Ventura County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, California Public Defenders Association, Lawyers Second Amendment Association, The Shooters Bar, Deuce Defenders, Women Lawyers of Monterey County, and the Monterey County Bar Association.

Ms. Hill worked for 2 years in the Monterey County Public Defenders Office defending felony matters and cases in felony domestic violence court.
